ABOUT MOTORCYCLES

Do you have to have your own motorcycle?

You are expected to arrive with a motorcycle of your own to participate in any Moto-Cyco tour.

Do you rent motorcycles?

At this time, Moto-Cyco does not rent motorcycles.

Does my bike have to be a Harley-Davidson motorcycle?

Moto-Cyco Touring Adventures is, first and foremost, a motorcycle touring company. While, we prefer to ride Harley-Davidsons, we are more interested in getting people out to see all that New England has to offer for motorcyclists. No brand or model is ever excluded from a Moto-Cyco tour. In fact, we love learning about what and why others ride.

Does my bike have to be a touring motorcycle?

No brand or model of motorcycle is ever excluded from a Moto-Cyco tour. It is, however, your responsibility to be prepared for a multi-day tour. Moto-Cyco tours are 100 percent self-contained, so you will be carrying all of your own gear and such for the duration of the tour. How you pack your bike and what you bring is up to you, as long as you are safe and ready. Be advised, Moto-Cyco tours are rain or shine.

What happens if my bike breaks down?

Moto-Cyco rides with a Road Captain in the Sweep Position at the rear of the group. If your bike should have an issue, you should pull over as safely as possible. The rest of the group will continue to a safe pull-over location and the Sweep Road Captain will stop with you. Our Road Captains are not roadside mechanics, but we may be able to help you assess and correct any quick-fix issues, when possible. It is strongly recommended that you have roadside assistance service coverage to handle larger issues

Miscellaneous

How large of a group are your tours?

We limit tours to 10 bikes plus the Moto-Cyco team of 3-4 bikes. We feel that groups of this size maximize safety and enhance the enjoyment exploring New England’s roads and sites.

Do you require helmets?

MCTA tours do go through states that have mandatory helmet laws. We’re not in the business of enforcement but will expect that all such laws are followed and strongly recommend that a helmet be worn for safety at all times. Refusal to obey state laws and/or rules of the tour may result in my removal from the tour by the organizers and no monies will be refunded for such removal.

Additionally, MCTA prohibits tour participants from consuming alcohol, using illegal drugs or otherwise participating impaired during any ride day. Having a drink or two at the end of the day is fine, but we encourage riders to not ‘overindulge’. Anyone found to have consumed alcohol or illegal drugs prior to or during any day’s ride will be prohibited from participating in the remainder of the tour. MCTA reserves the right to remove any participant if we believe or suspect the rider is under the influence or impaired at any time. MCTA reserves the right to remove any tour participant, at any time, for conduct that threatens the safety or enjoyment of other tour participants.
